Designed for durability and easy use, the pitch and slope locater features a high-impact plastic body, black in color, with a clear acrylic lens and easy-to-read graduations. Half of the scale is printed in 0-to-90 degrees in two quadrants. The other half is a patented printed scale for reading pitch in inch-rise per 12-inch run without the use of conversion tables. Summary : BUYER BEWARE
This is a complaint against Amazon, not the product. I need the three products (totaling over $200) and thought it would be worth the extra $12 for on day shipping. As soon as I placed the order I found that the important parts of the order would arrive 9 to 14 days later. The $8 product would arrive in 1 day, and there was no way to change it! What a rip-off. I would never have paid for 1-day shipping on a partial shipment.

Summary : Exactly what I needed
I was not able to find this product at Lowe's, Sears, Kmart, Walmart nor Sam's, Home Depot nor Northern Tool and Equiptment (I did not check Kelly's) and probably other places I don't remember now. I know some of these stores carry it in other cities but this tool was not to be found in Miami. And it is exactly what I needed. It measures the slope as a measure of degrees or as rise over run. I found plenty of protractors or similar devices in degrees. But I wanted to take a picture that would show rise over run. As far as I know this is the only tool for that and in Miami, FL, Amazon.com is the easiest way to get it.

Summary : Roof slope/pitch meter
This is a very inexpensive but very useful meter for measuring a roof's slope in either degrees or rise/run relative to 12 inches. It is so handy that I can't believe that no stores in the Houston area close to me carry it. I am so glad that I was able to get one delivered to my home through Amazon.com. This tool is so easy to use, just place it on the roof and read the slope. You can even take a very good reading from the ground without getting on the roof. Thank you Amazon.
